In accordance with the policy of
PROTERGIA S.A., a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) is concluded
between the company and the local
authorities regarding the implemen-
tation of public benefit projects, in-
frastructure works or cultural activities
in the area concerned, aiming to im-
prove the quality of life of local resi-
dents, in consultation and collabora-
tion with the local Municipality and de-
pending on the latter’s needs, with the
local community stating its acceptance
of the RES project. Public benefit
projects in support of local communi-
ties are implemented primarily during
the construction stage of RES projects
and can indicatively include the fol-
lowing:
Donations to Municipalities towards
the purchase of vehicles and equip-
ment required for the operation of
Municipal Services and for fire pro-
tection.
Construction of infrastructure works
that will improve the life of the Mu-
nicipality residents, such as road
building or maintenance, repairs or
construction of Municipal buildings
and facilities, in collaboration with
the Municipalities concerned and de-
pending on their needs.
Creation of environmental parks
and recreation areas adjacent to the
company’s RES projects, so that the
site can become an Educational
Tourism attraction.
