The 10th cycle of the paid internship programme opens the way for the next generation of engineers
Applications open until 20 October 2026
This year marks the tenth anniversary of METLEN’s paid “Engineers in Action” internship programme, which has become an established reference point for young engineers taking their first professional steps. With the launch of its 10th cycle, METLEN is once again inviting recent engineering graduates to gain meaningful experience in a real-world working environment through a 12-month paid internship programme.
Since its launch, the programme has attracted young engineers and provided them with the opportunity to experience METLEN’s modern professional environment first-hand, work alongside experienced professionals, and turn their academic knowledge into practical experience and applicable skills. Participants become actively involved in METLEN’s day-to-day operations across a broad range of activities, from the Company’s facilities and projects—including energy projects and operations—to construction sites.
The programme’s success is also reflected in the particularly high employment rate among its participants. For many of the young engineers who have taken part, their first professional experience has evolved into a long-term career at METLEN, demonstrating the programme’s ability to serve as a meaningful bridge between education and entry into the labour market.
At a time when attracting and retaining skilled talent is becoming increasingly important, the programme creates opportunities for young professionals to remain in Greece, develop their capabilities and build their careers in the country.
At the same time, METLEN’s international growth is reflected in the evolution of the programme itself. “Engineers in Action” has now expanded beyond Greece, offering similar opportunities to young engineers in the United Kingdom and Italy and progressively developing an international reach.
