METLEN brings the next generation of engineers to the heart of modern metallurgy - “Engineers in Action – Metals Sector” for the 2nd year
For yet another year, METLEN invites young engineers to join its paid graduate program
Applications: until 6 April 2026
For the second consecutive year, METLEN is implementing its “Engineers in Action - Metals Sector” program, a targeted 12-month paid graduate scheme for young engineers who wish to take their first professional steps in the modern, technologically advanced and internationally oriented metals industry.
The program forms part of the broader “Engineers in Action” initiative, which launched in Greece in February 2014 and has now completed nine successful cycles. More than 260 young engineers have participated in the broader program to date, with the majority of them securing employment in the labour market in less than three months after completing it, while 125 of them are currently working at METLEN.
The “Engineers in Action - Metals Sector” program highlights the new reality of the metals industry, where digital transformation and advanced production technologies are redefining the role of the modern engineer.
Participants join METLEN’s industrial operations in central Greece (Viotia, Fokida and Oinofyta), gaining direct and meaningful access to a demanding yet supportive environment, where expertise meets real-world practice.
Through their participation, young engineers take on roles in real projects of international scope, where they are required to manage complex technical and organisational challenges. In doing so, they develop critical skills and acquire a substantial understanding of the modern industrial and energy ecosystem. It is no coincidence that the participant satisfaction rate in the overall program consistently remains above 90%.
METLEN’s Metals Sector operates the only fully vertically integrated production unit in Europe for bauxite, alumina and primary aluminium, with privately owned port facilities. The historic Aluminium of Greece plant is today the largest vertically integrated producer of alumina and aluminium in the European Union and one of the most dynamically growing industrial organisations in the country.
At the same time, METLEN is developing a new production activity in the field of gallium, a critical material for cutting-edge technologies and Europe’s industrial autonomy, leveraging its long-standing metallurgical expertise and access to raw materials.
If you would like to take the next step in your career in industry and meet the following requirements, you can become Engineers in Action in METLEN’s Metals Sector:
